What the Roblox Terms of Use Say About Scripts, and What Happens If You Get Banned

October 10, 20265 min readRblxScript Editorial

Roblox does not allow exploits. Its Community Standards ban "using or sharing exploits to help yourself or others gain an unfair advantage anywhere on the platform", and its help center says cheating "will lead to the deletion of an account". Scripts run through an executor fall under that rule. A ban can also reach alternate accounts Roblox links to you.

This site lists scripts, so we would rather you hear this from us, with the official wording, than find out from a moderation notice. Below is what the rules say, what a ban can cost and how to appeal one.

The rules, in their own words

Three official documents cover this. The Terms of Use are the contract. The Community Standards list what is not allowed. The help center explains both in plain language.

Roblox doesn't allow cheating, exploits, or misleading content or schemes, including using or sharing exploits to help yourself or others gain an unfair advantage anywhere on the platform.
— Roblox Community Standards, "Cheating and Scams"
Exploiting or cheating is unfair to all Roblox players and creates a poor experience for everyone. These actions are a violation of the Roblox Terms of Use, and will lead to the deletion of an account.
— Roblox Support, "Cheating and Exploiting"

The Community Standards also forbid trying to get around Roblox's security systems. An executor works by injecting code into the Roblox client, which is exactly the kind of thing Hyperion, the client anti-cheat, is built to detect.

One more clause surprises people. The Terms make you responsible for any action taken on your account with your login, "whether or not such actions have been authorized by you". Lending your account to a friend who runs a script is, for Roblox, the same as running it yourself.

What a ban can take from you

The Terms of Use give Roblox the right, "in its sole discretion", to suspend or terminate an account that breaks the rules. The same clause names things people forget about:

  • Your alternate accounts. The Terms mention "suspending or terminating any alternate account(s) you create or have created".
  • What you bought. Suspension can remove access to Robux, experience access, in-experience items and virtual items on the account.
  • Other accounts you own. The Account Switching help page says Roblox may act on different accounts it determines belong to the same user.

A game ban is not a Roblox ban

Two different things get called a "ban". The first comes from the game. Its developers can remove you from their experience, using Roblox's own ban tools, when their server-side checks see impossible stats or speed. That ban is limited to that game.

The second comes from Roblox moderation and applies to the whole account. It can be a warning, a temporary suspension or a deletion. This is the one that can touch your Robux and your other accounts, and it is the one the appeal process below is for.

How to appeal a ban

Your moderation notice tells you which route you can use. Some violations are appealed from the Violations & Appeals page; the rest go through the Roblox Support form.

  1. Read the notice. It says what the violation was and whether Violations & Appeals is available.
  2. Appeal within 30 days of the moderation action. Users in the European Union get six months.
  3. Include your username and a short statement of why the decision should be reviewed.
  4. Write from a valid email address for that account. Only the owner can appeal.
  5. Send it once. A moderation that was already reviewed will not be reviewed again, and duplicate appeals are ignored.

Be honest in the appeal. Roblox says an appeal does not guarantee the consequence will be removed. If someone else used your account, say so, and secure it before you write: new password, 2-Step Verification and "Log Out of All Other Sessions".

Beware of "unban" services

After a ban, many players search for a fix and find people who promise to remove it for money or for your login. Nobody outside Roblox can lift a ban. Handing your password to one of these services gets you a second problem on top of the first.

Where this leaves script users

The official position is clear, and this article does not try to soften it. If you still choose to experiment, the honest advice is the same we give everywhere on the site: a separate alternate account with nothing valuable on it, scripts copied as text from a page you can check, and no downloads you have not scanned.
